Dr. Frank C. Jerbi

HONORARY SENIOR CLASS
PRESIDENT

The members of the Class of 1976 honor Dr. Frank C.
Jerbi for his excellence in teaching and total dedication
to his profession. For the past three years, Dr. Jerbi has
served with distinction as Chairman of Removable Pros-
thodontics and has instilled in his students a sense of pro-
fessionalism and care for the patient. In the lecture hall,
students appreciate Dr. Jerbi's mastery of the subject and
highly organized lectures; and even the hazardous decibel
level has a way of making a permanent mark in the minds
of the future dentists. We are proud to honor Dr. Frank
Jerbi as a professor, clinician, and colleague because he
has been such a meaningful part of the Class of 1976.

activities. The main theme of Gamma Pi Delta is directed
toward stimulating the creative interests of the profession
in general.

GORGAS

The Gorgas Odontological Society was organized in 1915
as a student organization, and later it was changed to an hon-
orary student dental society with scholarship as a basis for
admission. The Society is named after Dr. Ferdinand J. S.
Gorgas, a pioneer in dental education and a great contrib-
utor to dental literature, and it was with the idea of perpetu-
ating his name that the Society adopted it.

The Society makes for its objective the furtherance of
dental knowledge by discussion and lectures. Gorgas is com-
prised of junior and senior members whose scholastic
endeavors have placed them in at least the top third of their
class. Four dinner meetings are held annually with guest lec-
turers selected to speak on diverse topics of interest to stu-
dents and practitioners of the dental profession. At present,
the faculty adv isor. Dr. Jose Diaz provides aid and guidance
in the selection of candidates, and the attainment of the
Society's goals.

Zeta Mu Chapter of Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity planned a calendar complete in the tenets of the fraternity. Aca-
demics were emphasized throughout the year as seen in monthly seminars with the alumni. Topics ranged from a "Pot-
pourri of Pedodontics" to "Practice Management." Fraternally, the alumni sponsored a Big Brother Program, high-
lighted by a Casino Night for Big Brothers and undergrads. Also, Baltimore Alumni and Zeta Mu enjoyed several Mon-
day night scientific dinners which featured guest speakers. The close contact of members helped to build a large pledge
class in Rush Week "75. The Annual Rush Breakfast attracted many students and established a pledge class of fifty.

Socially, the fraternity sponsored a September "Welcome Back Crab Feast" on the Chesapeake Bay. This was fol-
lowed with the annual fall Wine and Cheese Party featuring wine, deli, a band, and movies. Topping the social season,
Zeta Mus attended the annual Spring Away Weekend and Senior Banquet in Ocean City. Fraters enjoyed the ocean view
and vacation atmosphere of the Sheraton-Fountainebleau Inn, culminated by a poolside cocktail party and Senior
Awards.

In support of the international fraternity, Zeta Mu and Baltimore Alumni hosted the 68th International Convention in
Baltimore over the winter vacation. The week-long assembly of fraters from the United States, Canada, Europe, and
Israel participated in social events and scientific and business meetings. Certainly, this was an outstanding year for all
Alpha Omegans.

The undergraduate Alpha Chapter of Psi Omega has
been an increasingly active and growing professional den-
tal fraternity at the University of Maryland during 1975-
76. Monthly dinner meetings and frequent social get-
togethers helped the brothers and sisters of Psi-O to take
a break from the academic world and relax. Summer
activities included a crab feast and swim party, softball
games with Psi-O alumni, and even a chartered boat fish-
ing outing. An informal open party and joint undergradu-
ate/alumni breakfast comprised Rush Week activities.
Other annual activities included Colt Night, Preakness
Day, Christmas Dinner Theater, Halloween and Valen-
tine's Parties, and Psi-Cs biggest event — the Senior
Banquet and Dance. More activities with the Oriole
alumni chapter are being planned.

Fraternalism and the high standards of the dental pro-
fession are qualities one can find in Psi Omega. President
Ray Mack and Dr. Glenn D. Steele, faculty advisor, have
worked diligently with the cooperation of the member-
ship, this year to achieve these worthwhile objectives.

XI PSI PHI

One of the oldest fraternities for the dental profession,
Xi Psi Phi pledges itself to developing professional inter-
ests and attitudes. Seminars with practicing dentists and
related professionals keep the organization in contact with
the outside developments in the field of dentistry. The
social aspect of fraternity is not ignored; throughout the
year parties and dinners are held to develop closer rela-

CHOOSING YOUR

DENTAL LABORATORY —

PERHAPS THE MOST IMPORTANT

DECISION YOU WILL MAKE!

^/ The dental laboratory you select can play a vital

role in the growth of your practice. . . .It's essential to

jse the services of a knowledgeable full service laboratory —

one with the expertise to assist you during your early years. . . and

throughout your career.

BEFORE YOU MAKE THAT DECISION,
WE INVITE YOU TO COME IN AND SEE US AT
CO-OPERATIVE DENTAL LABORATORIES

We have added a new dimension to the term "Full Service Laboratory" with our exclusive
Practice Management Service. Here are some of the ways we help young dentists embark
upon their chosen career:

1. Conduct Practice Management Courses.

2. Search for practice locations, partnerships, or associateships.

3. Provide counsel in the development of groups or corporations.

4. Recommend proven office procedures, budget techniques, and forms utilization.

A visit to our unique facilities is as meaningful as a series of valuable clinics. You will not
only see what we are doing, you will see what hundreds of doctors are doing . . . doctors
who take advantage of our unequalled facilities and personnel. You will be exposed to some
of the most advanced concepts found in the modern dental laboratory and some not found
anywhere else at this time. You will find highly skilled technicians ready and eager to
answer your questions.

FOR A FREE BOOKLET ON "SELECTING YOUR DENTAL LABORATORY"
AND FURTHER INFORMATION ON OUR PRACTICE MANAGEMENT
SERVICES, PLEASE WRITE OR CALL.
